Missing the Forest for the Trees.
15 years ago the veneers in the before image were placed. The reason? The patient complained that her teeth were too small. So the previous dentist made them bigger, WAY bigger. The problem was that the teeth were in completely the wrong position and the smile STILL didn’t look right. Look at the before picture: huge, unevenly shaped teeth, but only the front 6 teeth are visible. The sides of the smile were completely ignored and thus a major overbite just became worse. Coupled with poor shape and sharp edges on the veneers and a snowball effect of poor cleansibility and aesthetics plagued this patient for years. We comprehensively treated the smile, widened it, added ceramic on the sides, and created new, smooth, and aesthetic dental veneers that also corrected her bite.
